Epsilon 'respects' FIA's decision By Pablo Elizalde Thursday, September 9th 2010, 07:58 GMT Epsilon Euskadi boss Joan Villadelprat says he respects the FIA's decision to not grant the 13th team slot for the 2011 season. The governing body said on Wednesday that none of the candidates met the requirements to join the Formula 1 grid next year, with Epsilon conceding the financial aspect of the project was still not secured. The Spanish squad, which had already applied to enter the sport last year, told AUTOSPORT that it was still not ruling out securing the budget for the 2011 season, in which case it would contact the FIA again with the hope that it is allowed to join the grid

Johnny Sauter beats Matt Crafton for first career Trucks win

LAS VEGAS — Johnny Sauter raced to his first career NASCAR Trucks Series victory, taking the lead from Matt Crafton with 16 laps left and holding on to win the Las Vegas 350 on Saturday night.Crafton, who took over the lead following a caution period with 26 laps remaining, held on to finish second in the 146-lap race on the 1.5-mile oval. “My truck just didn’t have the speed that Johnny Sauter’s did,” said Crafton, second in the standings — 197 points behind Ron Hornaday Jr. “Wow, that truck was fast.”Jason White was third, followed by pole-sitter Todd Bodine, Timothy Peters and points leader Hornaday.The 51-year-old Hornaday, who has six victories this year, led 33 laps before Sauter passed him on the 89th lap.Mike Skinner was seventh, followed by Aric Almirola, Brian Ickler and Tayler Malsam.
